Waste Management

At the University of California, Irvine, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to utilize reusable products and to recycle materials in order to reduce and divert campus waste from landfills. Campus programs educate our community about recyclable materials, sustainable purchasing options, and proper methods of hazardous waste disposal.

Facilities Management

Facilities Management runs a comprehensive waste management and recycling program for non-hazardous materials. Also, the UCI Recycling Program run by Facilities Management offers internships to students of any major. The students receive class credit for working on recycling projects of their choosing. Visit Recycling and Waste Management for more information.
