The creative, dedicated, and motivated students at UC Irvine are the
driving force behind campus sustainability efforts. Without their interest
and support, we would not be successful in achieving our sustainability
goals.
This student group promotes the importance of recycling, waste reduction,
and re-use.
This student run environmental organization provides students with the
opportunity to work on and create campaigns concerning public interests
and environmental issues, such as hunger and homelessness, water watch,
youth vote, and much more.

EWB is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to improving
the quality of life in emerging countries world wide. As a
collaborative of engineers, researchers, students, and professionals
from every walk of life, EWB works hand-in-hand with developing
communities to implement sustainable engineering projects. Formed in
Spring 2008, the new EWB at UCI is building its network and currently
partnering with the Orange County professionals chapter to work on
developing international projects. Also, EWB at UCI is looking to begin
research projects to design economical and sustainable solutions for

Environmental Law Society at UC Irvine
The purpose of this club is to expose students to numerous issues
regarding the environment and the law. Student learn how the law can be
used to take on environmental issues such has global warming.
Professionals from the fields of law, politics, and the environment
will discuss policy and law and how the two relate. For more

UC Irvine joined a state-wide student organization called Green Campus in
the 2004-05 academic year. These UC Irvine undergraduate students find
creative ways to promote eco-friendly practices, especially in the area
of energy conservation.
Irvine Students Against Animal Cruelty
These students raise awareness of the connection between cruelty to
animals, human health, and the environment; foster a sense of social
responsibility in daily living; and empower students through

This student group takes an interdisciplinary approach in relating the
biological and research components of environmental conservation to
actively promote global sustainability through educational outreach and
volunteer programs.
Students for Sustainability is the UC Irvine chapter of the California
Student Sustainability Coalition (CSSC). S4S works with students,
faculty, staff, and administrators to plan sustainability events,
advance sustainability initiatives, and promote collaboration,
education and engagement of our community.
The Sustainable Energy Technology Club is a student organization that promotes the inspiration, education, and application of sustainable ideas to students, particularly in science and engineering related fields. With the common theme of energy, club members will explore how science and technology can be used as a driving factor behind making changes in society with respect to a cleaner environment and less wasteful lifestyles. SETC will accomplish its goals by means of SETC's Energy Sustainability Seminar Series, monthly field trips or activities, and through the support of engineering student senior design projects where students are able to come up with their own solutions and to physically build or model them.

student group that advocates for a sustainable and just food system
through research, education, and advocacy. The club aims to create and
implement clear guidelines that prioritize community based,
ecologically sound, fair, and humane food purchasing; waste reduction;
and green dining facility standards at UC Irvine.
UCI Student Sustainability Coalition
Unites and empowers student groups working for sustainability through resource and skill sharing as well as connecting students with staff, faculty, and community leaders to reduce the campus' ecological footrpint and realize social justice.
