Focus the Nation at UC Irvine

Sustainability and Climate Change Solutions
January 30 – 31, 2008

Teach-in events and lunch sold out!

Critical decisions regarding global warming and clean technology investments will be made in the coming years. These decisions will have profound and irreversible impacts on our community, on America, and on future generations.

The Focus the Nation event at UC Irvine lays the foundation for a serious discussion about global warming solutions. UC Irvine is one of over 1,000 institutions to join the national Focus the Nation campaign. For more information about the campaign, visit Focus the Nation.

Focus the Nation at UC Irvine will kick-off on January 30 with a national webcast featuring featuring Stanford climate scientist Stephen Schneider, sustainability expert Hunter Lovins, and green jobs pioneer Van Jones. UC Irvine Chancellor Michael Drake will give opening remarks at the main event on January 31. Keynote presentations will be given by Michael Prather, Pofessor of Earth System Science and member of the Nobel Prize winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and green jobs pioneer Van Jones.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to attend. Event attendees are encouraged to register. Although the event is free, only registered participants are guaranteed admittance. Non-registered individuals will be admitted if space is available on the day of the event.

We look forward to seeing you there.
