The University of California, Irvine is dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. Conservation actions, curtailments, and retrofits are developed to balance environmental benefits with the needs of the campus community.
In 2008, UC Irvine joined the
California Climate Action Registry (CCAR) and completed its first campus greenhouse gas emissions inventory. In recognition of this achievement, UC Irvine has been designated a "Climate Action Leader"
by the CCAR.
